SUMMER DAY CAMP PROGRAM REGISTRATION

 

Amherst Youth & Recreation Dept. will hold its Summer Day Camp registration beginning Thursday, June 4 at 9am online by visiting www.amherstyouthandrec.org   Residents must have a 2020 Youth & Recreation town ID card in order to register online for camp programs.  Families who had an ID card in 2018 or 2019 may renew their cards online at www.amherstyouthandrec.org and cards will be mailed.  New families in need of ID cards may arrange for an ID card appointment by calling 631-7132.  Leave your name and phone number and someone will call you back to schedule your appointment.  No walk-ins will be accepted for ID cards.  Cards must be renewed/purchased by 4:00pm Wednesday, June 3 in order to be valid for summer camp registration.

 

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, families are encouraged to register ONLINE for camp at www.amherstyouthandrec.org

 

LIMITED in-person camp registration will be held at the Northtown Center at Amherst, 1615 Amherst Manor Drive, Williamsville, NY 14221 at 9:00am on Thursday, June 4.  In-person registration does not guarantee a spot in camp and online registration is preferred.  Use the North Maplemere Drive entrance into the facility.  Registration will be held at the Guest Services window on the lower level.  No more than 2 people will be allowed into the building at a time.  Masks MUST be worn.  People waiting outside must observe social distancing or will denied entrance.

Due to concerns of COVID-19, CDC guidelines, and NYS regulations

AY&R Summer Camp 2020 will operate as follows:

 

~Reduced number of campers at each location.

~Campers remain at same location for the summer (no switching sites).

~Children stay on site all week/summer (No busing, no swimming and no bused field trips).

~Children stay in small groups throughout week/summer with similar counselors.

~Social distancing and use of face masks consistent with CDC guidelines. 

~Parent drop off/pick up outside and parent responsible for assuring child is healthy. 

~Daily temperature checks.

~Limited sharing of equipment and supplies. 

~Frequent hand washing/hand sanitizing.

~Frequent disinfecting/cleaning/sanitizing of facilities and supplies. 

~Entertainment/special guests brought into camp. 

~Cost $165/wk Elementary; $175/wk Middle School Explorers; no transfers, no refunds.

~Continued commitment to your child's social, emotional and physical well-being.
